We offer a HUGE choice of decors for any project!

We offer a HUGE choice of decors for any project!

A challenge for any project is to decide on the right décor for the design, especially for counter surfaces, reception desks, troughs and vanities, as these areas are often prominent and used frequently.

Because we work with a variety of materials, including Corian, Hi MacsStaron, Hanex, Durat etc we are confident that there will be something that is appropriate for you. There are colours which have been produced to offer an alternative to concrete which seems to be the current in-vogue material. There are also finishes with veined and marble effects, which have been produced to resemble marble and granite.

If you would like to receive any samples of colours you are interested in, please feel free to get in touch by sending an email to nicola@bsfsolidsurfaces.com, or phone us on 01277 263603, and we can organise these for you. You will then be able to see for yourself how perfect they might be for your project, which coupled with the benefits of using Solid Surfaces, make them the perfect surface solution. For more information please have a look at our website www.bsfsolidsurfaces.com or take a look at our company Linkedin and Facebook pages.  We look forward to hearing from you.

How Do I Clean Solid Surface?

photo 3

So, did you know that Solid Surface is relatively low maintenance, compared to other hard surfaces? This is true of all the Solid Surfaces we supply (Corian, Hi Macs, Staron, Hanex etc).

Because it is non porous, stains are surface stains only and can be cleaned using most household cleaners. In our experience using any household cleaners with or without bleach, will remove stains quite easily, that’s not to say you don’t need elbow grease, but with the use of a kitchen sponge or brush, stains should easily be removed. This includes red wine, turmeric and beetroot, stains that normally instil fear in even the hardiest of us.  For more stubborn stains, you can use a product called Bar Keepers Friend (or similar ) , which is a light powder cleaner, containing bleach, which can be rubbed over the surface and if necessary, left to soak.  We do not recommend the more abrasive powder cleaners, as these could, potentially, dull down the finish of the top, which can be revived, but causes unnecessary extra work and adds cost.

This ability to bring the surface back to its original appearance, after usage, is another advantage to be considered when making surface choices.

If you would like to know more please feel free to send an email to nicola@bsfsolidsurfaces.com, phone us on 01277 263603, have a look at either our company LinkedIn and Facebook pages, my LinkedIn page, or visit our website www.bsfsolidsurfaces.com

Solid Surface Is Seamless!

So, another fact you may, or may not know about Solid Surface! It can be fabricated, seamlessly into any number of wonderful shapes and sizes.

This is true of all the Solid Surfaces we supply (Corian, Hi Macs, Staron, Hanex etc).

Wow! The sheet material itself is sent into us in large sheets, which we then cut, shape, thermoform and seam using the specialist techniques and tooling of our trade. We manipulate into your bespoke, handcrafted designs, making it  suitable for just about any application you might desire.

These two photo’s demonstrate this perfectly.

Did You Know Solid Surface is Non Porous?

alli photo

Did you know that Solid Surface is non porous, meaning that stains and germs cannot penetrate its’ surface. This is true of all the Solid Surfaces we supply (Corian, Hi Macs, Staron, Hanex etc).

If cared for and cleaned properly, the growth of mould, mildew, bacteria and other nasty things can be avoided, unlike other surface choices. Counter tops can be made as one seamless piece, with a choice of integrated sinks and coved backsplashes, therefore, there are no dirt traps and they are easier to keep clean and are perfect for areas where hygiene and cleanliness are of importance. Crucially, this makes them low maintenance, and very easy to keep clean.

What Is Solid Surface??

Following all the questions we regularly receive regarding Solid Surface, we have decided we are going to produce regular “Snippets” of information answering these questions, starting with the most obvious.

What Is Solid Surface?

Ok, I’m not going to bore you with a load of technical information about what Solid Surface is.

Quite simply, it is an advanced, composite blend of natural minerals and acrylic and/or polyester polymer dependent on the brand you select. This creates a man made, stone-hard surface, that can be manufactured into counter tops, reception desks, vanity tops and many, many, many other applications, the list of potential uses for Solid Surface is limited only by the imagination.
